Jälleen
kerran saa lukea ikäviä uutisia siitä, kuinka väärä lääkevalinta lasten
sairauksien hoidossa saattaa aiheuttaa elinikäisen haitan. Tämä tutkimustulos
voitiin lukea jo vajaa vuosi sitten YLE:n ja Helsingin Sanomien uutisista.
Kuitenkaan lääketehtaat eivät ole reagoineet näiden tulosten julkistamiseen,
vaan samat varoitukset harvinaisista sivuvaikutuksista esiintyvät
päivittämättöminä lääkeselosteissa, mitään mainintaa Crohnin taudin
lisääntyneestä todennäköisyydestä ei näissä lääkeinfoissa näy. Sana ei
ole levinnyt useimpien lääkäreidenkään tietoisuuteen, koska tietämäni mukaan
muutamia lasten Crohnin taudin puhkeamisia on ilmaantunut juuri sellaisissa
tapauksissa, joissa lääkäri on toistuvasti määrännyt toistuvan
kefalosporiinilääkityksen lapselle.
